Pros

When you're not in busy season it is an amazing place to work, very flexible hours with the ability to work from home. Fresh fruit, coffee, cereal always available in the pantries. Pretty good annual raises, with great bonuses twice a year. As long as you're a hard worker and put the hours in you will move up pretty easily.

Cons

Busy season is atrocious! When I started there it was much more relaxed, as the years went on the company as a whole became stricter and more demanding. Busy season lasts for about 4-6 months out of the year with minimum 65 billable hour work weeks. Weekends are almost always mandatory during this season. Being seen working long hours rather than the quality of your work is what is valued.

Pros

- Very friendly atmosphere, great collegiate culture - Open door policy is actually open door, as long as you have something to talk about or ask - HR does their best to accommodate to your work preferences, managers and partners are very understanding of personal issues and conflicts - Compensation is decent or comparable to market (public accounting) - Work life balance (considering public accounting / busy season nature of the industry) compared to larger or even other middle market firms - Transparent and equitable evaluation process

Cons

- The stronger performers tend to get overworked - Benefits are expensive
