The main pro is the fact that there is a history of comments on this resource which clearly identifies red flags. Peruse through the comments on this site. Noticing any common concerns which include many helpful hands of support? Managers who protect one another and a lack of training would not be in any sentence regarding an employer of choice.

Cons

Job security, and meaningful work.

Cons

Once you top out on your pay increase steps don’t expect to get any raises unless you plan on continually promoting. I’ve been topped out for the last 5 years, the county has given a couple measly 2% “raises” which don’t even cover the yearly increase of your health insurance. I literally make $18 less a month now than I did last year. The BOS refuses to invest any more than the bare minimum to their employees who are providing difficult direct client care and so much more.
