Pros

Good experience in understanding how the government works. There are good and friendly people there.

Cons

Constant movement/turnover rate! This may be due to insufficient onboarding/training (per department) issues that lead to early separation or placement frustration. If you are coming from the private sector, this may be a gut-wrenching experience for you until you acclimate to their style and speed. Toxicity levels depend on the department, managers, and what they had for lunch. Steer clear of the agendas and egos, but "you're damned if you do and damned if you don't".
