Pros

Pays bills Opportunity to learn about merchant payment systems

Cons

Not a woman friendly work environment. 13% women Extremely high turnover of women due to unfavorable work environment 1 manager per 2.4 employees Excessive monitoring of salaried staff Exploitative, frivolous, and excessive use of employee warnings Very rigid, no flex or comp time policy for salaried staff, resulting in low productivity No telecommunication from home No individual or departmental recognition or awards Cronyism prevails and the rest starve Project leads lack good business knowledge which results in excessive project costs and low profitability No training opportunities. The knowledge you bring with you is the knowledge that you take away. With emerging technology changes, the employee loses out.

Pros

Supportive co-workers and supervisors that wanted to be more helpful but had their hands tied with unnecessary reports and meetings.

Cons

My managers' boss out of touch with current roadblocks in the field. I wish he would leave the corporate office on occasion and travel with subordinates to learn how technology and retail have changed.

Only If You Love Working for Non-Innovative Mediocre Management

Pros

Great way to learn about the payment industry from a large scale perspective. The biggest pro is once you get in this company, you can stay in for the next 10 to 35 years if you learn how to stay under the radar and blame others for any problems that arise. Other than that, just be thankful you have a job in this economy.

Cons

Management extremely mediocre and political but well-entrenched. Management all over like to assign blame, establish fake deadlines and set unrealistic expectation. Processes such as Six Sigma or Agile are non-existent but they have time and money to build a pseudo-startup lab. Good people do not last here, only the mediocre who need a job tend to stick around long term and it become obvious after working several months.
