Pros

Work/life balance was probably the best I've experienced in the industry. EA has generous vacation policies and its rare for anyone to send an email after 6pm. The Holiday shutdown was nice, and respected by almost everyone.

Cons

Employee churn at EA is very high, most of it voluntary (lots of people leave). The company has struggled for years with backstabbing politics and an awful 'Game of Thrones' culture. Management don't understand the industry and are elitist to boot, a culture fostered from the top down by Andrew Wilson.

Pros

Nice co workers to your face. Generally ok atmosphere.

Cons

Culture of people with poor work ethic and back stabbing attitudes. They keep people long past their expiration dates and drag the entire studio down with them in terms of learning new tools and process. Not a culture that values change or process improvement when it comes to actual implementation. Everyone agrees on paper but no one wants to actually do the leg work. You will constantly fight your peers over every little change and your effort will not be rewarded.
