Everyone is scared

Pros

Nice office on Bay Street. Very formal and needs to relax though. That’s it.

Cons

It’s heartbreaking to see so many people scared to speak up about what is wrong with the culture here. Our CPO is so closed minded and doesn’t know enough about other aspects of Human Resources to know how to lead with the integrity required. Communications in the business is so fake. There was a new purpose was launched, but it’s all lip service. None of the executive team or directors role model in an inspiring way - maybe the Execs from ANZ and MX, but we don’t see them much in Toronto.

Pros

None. Absolutely, positively none. None

Cons

My initial review was archived & it wasn’t even 6mos old. Wonder who made that happen. If you want to be miserable 40 hours a week; spend a lot of time crying at your desk; not get paid enough for the work you do; not get paid enough to do other people’s jobs or get treated like crap because you’re not one of the chosen ones, this is the place for you. This company could care less about their employees - unless you are a suck up. Then you are treated well no matter how much you screw up. They send out these “how are we doing” type surveys to make you think they care but nothing ever changes. They don’t care about work life balance. They don’t sympathize when something devastating happens in your personal life - heck, you’re lucky to get a Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas for crying out loud. And they do whatever they need to to get the tenured employees that make “more money” to quit - whatever it takes to make that money. Oh, and if you read reviews and see that they offer “Holiday Break” just know that the break is for everyone BUT the Customer Care team. We just get to read about it. We do get “in lieu” days for each day during the break that we work which is ok - I mean taking the week of President’s Day off is much better than enjoying time off between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Don’t bother voicing an opinion when you’re asked for one because they aren’t listening anyway. And don’t provide unsolicited opinions either. That means you are thinking outside the box and/or don’t agree with them and that’s a no-no. They will do whatever it takes to fill their pockets with money: outdated systems because it costs too much to upgrade or move to a platform that was created in the last decade; more and more outsourcing because it’s cheaper than hiring more people or giving their employees bonuses and increases to keep them invested in the job they do. Don’t despair though, they take away your work but to compensate you get to do everybody else’ - we get dumped on by every department. The one thing they don’t dump on Care is the money the people in the other departments get. They get the pay and we get the anxiety and stress… good stuff… And for the love of Pete don’t EVER get sick! You could have COVID; the flu; small pox, scurvy and the plague and you are still expected to work. They make you feel guilty or that you did something wrong because you got sick. Bottom line: I’m trapped because I’m too old to start over but you can keep your sanity and health by not applying here.
