They sent every one home to work and now 10 years later they've decided to force everyone to come back to offices ; knowing full well people will quit. Management has been instructed to tell employees that if they leave the company Anthem will be fine. The total lack of disregard and disrespect is jaw dropping. One man who makes well over six figures had the nerve to say he commutes an hour so everyone else should. You can't get a promotion unless you work at one of the major hubs so all the people who moved away from major cities to provide a better life for their families are now stuck in jobs with no hope of advancement.

Pros

Most of the people are great to work with. Very good compensation. Opportunities to learn a lot about different functional areas across health plans. Great tuition reimbursement. Most managers are pretty flexible with appointments and the need to wfh when needed, but this does tend to be manager specific.

Cons

ALWAYS doing reorgs, which means there are always reductions/layoffs. Latest top management is clearly focused on stockholders first and foremost. They do not want to invest in people or technology lately. Not the best health insurance, especially since we are health care! VERY title focused company culture. Unless you are a VP or above no one listens to you.

Pros

Few unless you enjoy incompetence or working for a company that favors Wallstreet at any and all costs.

Cons

Extremely poorly managed with little to no regard for employee wellbeing or expertise. Ongoing RIFs plus aggressive expectations equal cognitive dissonance. Heavily matrixed with bureaucratic decision rights. Excessive use of vendors and outsourcing heightens disorganization. Outside hires are clueless yet current regime favors them over internal experts which furthers decline and peppers ranks with more incompetence. Ongoing and systematic elimination of benefits and last vestiges of cordiality.
