Pros

Basic benefits that you would find anywhere else now that I have been interviewing with other companies. Don’t expect a deal on health benefits.

Cons

Company used to have high morale, great benefits, wonderful work culture, and option to work from home. With new leadership and sweeping changes made via recommendations from a well known consulting company, many benefits have been slashed, become more arduous to gain, or have become less beneficial. The new CEO is old school and does not like WAH, so everyone is making sweeping cuts and no one is being spared - high performers, diverse associates, etc. It is really mind boggling and it appears it is being done in response to whatever the consulting firm is telling leadership is where $ can be saved. Take caution if you are looking to work here - I worked in HR and I cannot endorse the culture that is currently being promoted. It is one of being cut throat, about the bottom line, and without regard to being a generally good human being. I am grateful to be leaving along with others who have been cut and tossed away no matter how many years of dedicated service have been given to the company. Know that if you join now you will be part of a major overhaul of the company.

Anthem Prepping to Sell?

Pros

Employment Paycheck Health Insurance Can help people with healthcare issues (sometimes)

Cons

New leadership lacks solid culture and realistic sustainable objectives for business growth. Success determined by your "friends" not merit. Pay behind others in the industry. Culture has gotten horrible recently under new leadership. Leaders do not treat subordinates with respect. Leadership is paranoid of negative feedback -- recent changes to benefits plan have draconian provisions for non-compete/defamation to receive benefits (CEO Gail B. had similar fears of any negative comments at United -- employees communications were monitored and individuals were fired if they conflicted with leadership).

Pros

Anthem's salary compensation packages are very attractive depending on your area of expertise and where they can be, very flexible.

Cons

Anthem is not for their employees any longer, they do not care for the well being of their associates, though the compensation packages are attractive, our benefit packages are NOT. Every year there is more and more taken away (except for work!), the work continues to pile on while you put in more hours than you can count for little recognition.
