Pros

Excellent office atmosphere, great teammates, relaxed attendance policy (varies from office to office, though.)

Cons

I was subjected to verbal harassment and bullying by a member of senior management due to a disability. This included repeated statements of my inability to adapt or keep up with my peers despite an excellent performance record, a statement that I did not have a disability, and false accusations regarding my actions. Naturally, I brought the matter up with my direct supervisor, who was both understanding and very upset with this. He promised to take the complaint to the next level and begin an investigation. They fired him a week later and made my harasser my direct manager. I was hesitant to file a complaint after seeing what had happened to my former manager, but a co-worker filed a complaint with my harasser's superior on my behalf after witnessing the harassment first hand. He was told that I would "just have to deal with it or bring it up with (the harasser)." During my time at the Eliassen Group, I only ever met one other disabled employee, who expressed that she was fearful of management becoming aware of her disability for similar reasons. I heard later that she was fired for reasons related to her disability. It's also worth noting that the company doesn't seem to care in the slightest about how its employees behave. During my time with them, one of their account managers was so routinely late (up to two hours every single day) that they set up a conference call in the mornings just for her, since she would never make it into the office in time. Other account managers would refuse to provide information or ask questions that were necessary for recruiters to be successful, which was not only overlooked but often encouraged by senior management. Metrics are a major focus, and the expectations are reasonable, but it seems that senior management is either unaware of how to read them or simply decides to make up their own on the spot. Before I left, I was told that I was the worst performer in the office with regards to interviews and submissions, when in fact I was the third best performer on interviews and had the second most submissions for the month for my office. You could say that this is the employer where the rules are made up and the points don't matter.

Pros

Company parties, trips for top performers, company outings Lots of reqs to work on even though they tend to be low quality or VMS There are some really friendly people on the floor.

Cons

Where to begin? As a Recruiter, they promised me all sorts of things coming in the door. They described a culture that is very far from reality. I was told that it is about performance based on results and not about phone calls and metrics. This is just not true. No matter how many deals I close in a month if my phone calls/time are not on par I get spoken to. I was told that Eliassen was different from the "sweat shops" that exist in staffing. I was told this and then they hire and promote a large management team directly from KForce who seems to be installing the "KForce Way" of doing things which in my opinion is a "sweat shop" approach. Things have gotten so bad that I have lost track of the number of senior Account Executives and Recruiters who have left the company. They really sold me hard on how long their employees stay with them. Since I have been here I have seen a number of people with 10+years of experience here leave. Some of these people had big numbers on the board. Just doesn't make sense. It is a young and inexperienced staff of recruiters. I was told they like to hire people with experience but there are so many kids here right out of school. Again seems to be the Big Staffing Company approach. There is way more VMS work then I was lead to believe. So many positions that lack manager contact which as a recruiter is very frustrating. It is really to bad. I thought I was joining a quality organization but they seem lost now. I think they could still be great but they lack leadership and direction.
