Pros

All the people are amazing to work with and we all work to find solutions instead of blame people for mistakes. Great local area to live in and raise a family.

Cons

Coal and Water groups have differing standardizations and are not linked in how they operate facilities. There seems to be a lack of progression for jobs that are not engineering or mine ops related without moving into a completely different role.

Lots of good people. Used to have a flexible work schedule.

Cons

Under Glencore, decreased flexibility and much more difficult to innovate technically.

Pros

Situated in Elk Valley, which is great for all outdoor activities. Fernie is known for ski hills and rafting, biking, and hiking opportunities galore. Organization is amazing, with everyone extremely helpful and supportive of your career.

Cons

It's a bit away from any major town (Cranbrook is 100-125 kms), which can be an inconvenience, depending on lifestyle choice. Snow dumps can be heavy and driving can be risky during both winter (snow and icy roads) and summer/spring (wildlife on highway)
