Pros

The one star review is not a good rating of the company, but upper management and the people team (HR) do not listen, or want to listen, to any problems. They do like metrics and want numbers to show how great they are, so maybe this is the way to get their attention. Here's some pros: Great employees at the bottom of the org chart. They are smart, work hard, and care about the company and their clients. It is great to work on products and services that benefits learning. Most clients are very thankful and great to work with.

Cons

There is a huge lack of communication. Its listed as a negative in every internal review they do, so they say they are going to communicate better. That's their sole increase - to just say that they will do better. There is an office move coming to headquarters, and although they said they will keep people updated, they do not. Either some of the directors are making up information, or others are lying that there isn't changes to be made. The CTO, SVP, and "leader" of the R&D division out-right lied during a town hall today. He is such a hypocrite. One thing I can say here that isn't confidential is that he has changed the culture of a division that used to allowed remote employees to one where people have to be in the office with multiple unrelated teams put together in a large room, even though he is often not in the office and will work from his home.

Looking for work due to troubling C-Level leadership

Pros

Some great people. Many employees very committed to the work and their customers. If you are low enough in the organization and in one of the one or two most functional departments, you might have a positive work experience.

Cons

Incompetent and narcissistic CEO who is more concerned about his own personal media coverage than running a successful company. He has brought in mediocre talent from his past roles who jump when he says jump and repeat the same tired cliches he uses ("a successful business is like a car going around a corner with three tires squealing" - really). Many layoffs in the past year at the most senior levels in the company and the most respected, credible leaders appear to be the ones being let go. It is believed through the coffee stand conversations that the CEO and his leadership team are threatened by any real leadership or capability in the company. Current leadership decisions do not leave any confidence or sense of future for the rest of us. There are a couple of senior leaders who are capable and demonstrate integrity, but given the volatile and abusive behavior of the CEO, we wonder how long they will last.

Pros

I liked the actual work and never felt over worked. I had four managers during my time there and liked them all -- they seemed to care about me and the work and making sure I had the support I needed. Good work/life balance, and benefits. Generous severance package.

Cons

The review process changes every year. Management cares more about sales than the actual product, so R&D employees are neglected. I worked in one of the smaller offices and we heard about expensive events going on in other locations but ours was left to its own devices with little budget. Layoffs consistently happened twice a year and they let go of talented people without much explanation or warning -- seemed based on dollars and not the work. Remaining employees have to pick up the slack on the existing projects.
