Pros

Elsevier is WLB, and i have enough freedom to do what i want

Cons

Team is big, and it's hard to learn the whole process of a project, which means normally you just can learn a bit from you own responsibilities.

Good company

Pros

Good work-life balance. Flexibility to WFH. People are competent and helpful (but I heard this can differ based on which team you work with). One of the main reasons I enjoyed working here was because of the people. Occasionally, there will be team get-togethers but its frequency differs from team to projects. You get the option of salary sacrifice, medical and dental insurance, and life insurance.

Cons

Salary compensation could be better in my opinion. There is only one office in Barbican for all London employees and generally no perks of working in the office besides free tea and coffee. There has been re-organisation and redundancies happening inside the company for the past couple of years, so job security can sometimes feel unsure.
