Pros

Work-life balance is outstanding at Elsevier, and managers sincerely care about you and your well being.

Cons

Almost no opportunities for promotion no matter how hard you work; very low recognition of excellent performance. Elsevier puts a lot of effort into recruitment, not retention of employees.

Thank you very much for your review. Through organizational commitment, we take a combined approach to our people's growth and professional development strategies. We empower them to see RELX, our sister companies, and Elsevier, a vast job marketplace for them to explore. We also provide them the resources and opportunities to manage their career development. If you are unsure how to do this, we ask you to speak to your manager and your HR business support. They will provide you with the support that you need.

Pros

- dev days allow you to spend a day studying a tech thing that's hopefully relevant to your job. Not PTO, but similar, since no work tasks on that day - it's a corporation, so plenty of places to get help - christmas bonus - great work life balance (I know a professor who is a full time programmer here)

Cons

- pay is average. Not bad though - Tasks are unevenly distributed, so some teams work all day long and others not so much
