- Pay is not equal to the level of responsibility. As an event services manager, you act as a liaison between the hotel and the clients. As such, you play an essential role in helping to retain the client for the next year or for future events. If clients love to work with you, and it is an annual event, they are more likely to return. If they had a terrible experience because they did not feel like you were easy to work with, then it is your fault why the client did not return. The pay rate for this role does not necessarily reflect the level of responsibility that is placed on your shoulders.
