Pros

If you ever get an offer to join the graduate research program then you're going to need to prepare to be able to engage in lots of different projects if a wife variety of departments. Since the school has so many connections, it's one of the best ways to gain world research experience. I assisted with creating course work for a MOOC, wrote a few work in TSA, FEMA, and more. Lots of government related work but they are important and necessary research and the experience was valuable. Lots of opportunities to connect with a variety of professors who were all very supportive and are one of the best in their research field.

Cons

Sometimes the research you do is stressful because I had one where deadline for a project was really tight and there was a lot that needed to be done. I was put on the project on short notice but was able to successfully help out the team of profressors on it.
