Pros

The school itself is a great place to work, they have a lot of quality programs to choose from.

Cons

The upper management does not communicate ver well. They try to run it more as a business than a school, so many good classes but enrollment is down which affects the school.

It's too bad...

Pros

People truly care about their jobs and keeping with Emily Griffith's (the person) original goal: Help people better their lives by getting trained in a career. The reason the students have a good experience is because of the dedication of the people who work directly with them in spite of the hurdles caused by the leadership.

Cons

The leadership leaves a lot to be desired. They talk about being transparent yet make decisions without involving the people who will be affected by those decisions. Communication across the college is a constant problem. The leadership changes what they want constantly as well. The departments have a hard time recognizing what is truly being asked of them. As an individual you make work hard on a project just to have the leadership dismiss it, even when the leadership asked for the project. I would not recommend anyone to work at EGTC with the current leadership. The medical insurance is not very good. It is expensive with high deductibles, especially if your family is on it.

The Blind Leading the Sighted

Pros

People here believe in the mission of the school. The instructors have a true passion for teaching. The school has a long history in Denver.

Cons

To this day the public sees this as Opportunity School. Many of the newer programs fit that description better than "College." The school charges tuition, gets private funding through their foundation, and receives taxpayer dollars. Despite these funds, the school has made economic layoffs for two years running. If you're looking for a place where executive management has a track record of success - keep looking.
