Pros

Caring people, work life balance

Cons

Low pay, confusing hierarchies. Reorganizations were difficult and often employees stay because it's difficult to get fired.

Pros

Emphasis on work/life balance, good benefits. Pay as expected for a private, non profit university. Many employees (mid-level, not entry level) stay for many years, indicating a postive atmosphere/ employee culture.

Cons

Slow to hire replacements for exiting employees, meaning more work for others in the interim. The university is large employer with lots of regulations and HR influence, slow to adapt and change- usual red tape issues in any large institution.

Pros

I have great coworkers who have been like family to me and I have been able to learn a lot and grow professionally. The programs and benefits for staff are first class! The focus on sustainability and scholarship is inspiring.

Cons

The hierarchy between staff and faculty or rather by education is often noticeable and the pay is not always competitive.
