Pros

Good for getting experience because most of the surgeons are nice and teaching minded. Most the coworkers are nice and friendly and extremely helpful when I first got here.

Cons

Parking alone is a reason not to work here. Having to use the shuttle service wasting 30 or more minutes of your day just trying to get to your car or from your car to work. Emory doesn’t care about it’s night shift employees, making women park in the farthest lot, and then having a five minute walk in the dark at 11:40pm by dorms to get to another parking lot from the main shuttle drop off. Robberies at gun point by the parking garages. Pays not good. Everyone complains about the management. Higher ups that don’t say hello to you ever. Cafeteria food is the worst I’ve had yet at any hospital I’ve worked at or been to. Seems run down, old equipment. Just overall bad vibes.

Pros

Great Job Security Great Benefits Generous Vacation/Sick Leave Flexible Schedule if Needed Tuition Reimbursement Promotes Continued Learning

Cons

Most of the benefits package is of no use if not a family with kids Antiquated compensation progression mired in inflexible administrative policies Little incentive for working better than average (negligible financial reward for excellent work) "Merit pay" often constrained by departmental budget, managers told to downgrade employee performance ratings regardless of actual employee performance Degree valued over skill and experience in most cases

Pros

Benefits are outstanding! The company is steadily growing which can lead to advancement and opportunities to learn. People are very friendly and easy to work with.

Cons

The pay scale is low. HR and Compensation make it extremely difficult to get an adequate raise. Staff members are extremely suppressed when it comes to pay increases, no bonuses. Work/Life balance is a joke!
