So tired of excuses

Pros

- Well-equipped kitchen - location - work from home/PTO

Cons

- When they're hiring, they promise bonuses at the interview. But forget to mention those haven't been paid out in years. It's a lie from the start. When you have a family and rely on bonuses because you agreed to a lower salary — don't. Focus exclusively on the fixed pay, you'll save yourself the real life trouble. It's already below-market compensation anyway. - HR work is limited to hiring, lay-offs, and admin. Their decisions are based on gossip, usually never communicate directly with the people affected and if its one sided and based on your personal relationship with them. When they like you, they hang out with you. When they don't, they don't even care about your opinion - even if its work related and your input is very much needed for company success. - gaslighting that's been going on for years - When the HR is on your side, you have a great negotiating position — nobody fires you just like that, even if you barely work. You get insider information you shouldn't have at all. etc.

Pros

Flexible work environment, unlimited PTO, can work remotely

Cons

Not paying out bonuses as promised during the hiring stage. No yearly salary raise, very poor benefits. Management is focused on deploying AI to enhance efficiency, which may result in a reduction in headcount.

Pros

- Fully remote (if you like that sort of thing) - Unlimited PTO that you really can use (at least in my department) - Mostly good people to work with - The product genuinely isn't bad, compared to its peers

Cons

- Constant layoffs. Nearly every quarter. General sense of dread there. - They'll sell you on a bonus but then never deliver any of it. - Lacking a cohesive vision for what they want to do/be - Atmosphere got very political in recent years. - Broadly, feels like the company is treading water, trying to keep afloat as long as possible. Got a billion-dollar valuation several years ago, but it feels like an albatross now.
