Directors in denial over their tendancy to micro manage multiple departments, limiting the organic growth of the business and their workforce. Some strange trust issues going on which results in little autonomy, responsibility or inspiration given to staff, resulting in a lack of cohesion between departments.
Minimal career progression opportunities (department dependant). Opportunities advertised as an incentive during recruitment process, no process in place to honour this, thus high turnover of staff is a constant throughout the business.
Project meetings often prove to be non constructive and tense, with a negative leadership style within operations leading to many rushed and illogical decisions, creating further interdepartmental frustration and resent.
Clear communication from the top is commonly non exsistent in any format, with a knock on effect to the management and their respective teams. With few decisions recorded and agreed, there is no accountability placed on the owners or any key stakeholders. On topics related to staff pay, company policy etc. there is a disconnect and lack of consideration for the employees. The choice and tone of language can often be bewildering, demoralising and destructive to momentum and progression.
A huge shame what you'll find beneath the commercial face of the business, so much passion, commitment and enthusiasm for multiple disciplines, unnecessarily wasted.
