      Pros

      Shifts go fast. Workers are 99% great. Work is interesting and pay is about the best around for a part-time gig.

      Cons

      Can be a bit miserable at times when hot and humid, making midnight to 8 my preferred shift. Guess it will be worse when it is really cold. (Open air- no heat) Not flexible with shift times. midnight to 8 am, 8am to 4pm, 4pm to midnight. I asked to work 4:30pm to 12:30 am- no go.

      Pros

      Low stress environment. No cost Healthcare benefits. An amazing Defined Benifit Pension. Terrific Company to work for.

      Cons

      Working on a cold dock in the Winter with do doors. Some workers that don’t appreciate the benifits of working under a Teamster contract.

      Pros

      Pay is best in the business. $100,000+ first year as a road driver. Year two I made $107,000… and took two months off for cancer surgery. Year three I made $129,000. I average 2-3 nights per week in a hotel. Usually only 1 night out then back home the next day. Frequently running turns (home at end of the run). Insurance is free and EXCELLENT coverage. I paid $1,000 total out-of-pocket for cancer surgery.

      Cons

      Not much life/work balance. Frustrating spending time on the extra board waiting to get a call to go to work, but with more seniority you get less wait time.
