The BCBAs and upper management at this company are VERY unsupportive and also seem to lack proper knowledge on what goals to give clients. They will also tell you to “push yourself if you want to excel” and have meetings about burnout without actually caring about how employees feel if you express those kind of concerns to them. At first, I thought they were a great company as I was new to the field and impressed by the benefits, but after working at another company for not even 6 months, I can confirm that my feelings towards ABS are valid. They make all BTs part time with the ability to work full time hours because they do not want to offer better benefits. The BCBAs are unsupportive and complain about actually having to support their staff members. Scheduling will not take anything you tell them into consideration and will add and remove kids to your schedule without telling you. They make you do required monthly meetings where they actually fed us while being at a meeting at 7 AM or 8 PM, but after a while we either got nothing or only given donuts. They cannot keep their word as a company as they have promised bonuses and taken them away right before we were supposed to get them. They tell you to do indirect hours and give you no motivation behind achieving them other than “if you want to be a BCBA then you need to work harder”. The expectations that they have for EVERY client to meet is very unreasonable and it shows that they treat every kid as “the same” and do not actually care about their progress. BEWARE before you take that step to work for them. You may like it, but more than likely you will become burnt out and want to leave.
