Pros

The pay is good and measures up to what else you will find in the industry. As a contractor you have a lot of independence, if you're in-house not quite as much. As a contractor there is no shortage of work, and it is pretty stable as far as contract jobs go.

Cons

Too much micro managing. The middle management gets slammed on all sides, and at the end of the day when there are ideas to be implemented or changes to be made, the field workers catch the brunt of it and very rarely receive compensation.

Pros

shift differentials, the ability to trade shifts or flex, paid training, premium holiday pay, plenty of overtime hours, and good for employees looking to build their resume.

Cons

you might have to work mandatory overtime during hurricane season, large volume of calls, very fast paced, and you may deal with hostile or panicked callers.
