Pros

Receiving a Pension after working with the company for five years if you make it that long. Insurance is more affordable than most companies but prices are beginning to climb year by year.

Cons

First and foremost, the company has a late policy of one minute, if you are not clocked in by your designated start time, one minute later you are considered late. Secondly, you also have to place yourself in ready status as soon as you clock in or you are still considered late regardless of clocking in on time or not. The next issue is the outdated systems the company uses and expects the employees to work with. There is no way to get any system or program up and running correctly reasonably with out coming in at least ten minutes early to log in and pull up. With the time that is vested to come in and log into the outdated system, you will not be paid for. Over time is not offered at all. If you run over on a task or call, an email has to be sent to inform management why you stayed and how long you had to stay over. If an email is not sent you are reprimanded. The company is unionized a certain levels but the money that is paid to the Union is useless because of the majority of the time if there is a gray area, the union sides with the company. The company pay is ok but based on other companies that have you do either import or export for a little less than what is offered at APL, it is not worth it.
