Pros

£11.50 an hour isnt awful Work is so easy a monkey could do it Colleagues (other than any management) are great!

Cons

I could write for days… Management is awful, they will force you to work far more than your contract, I had an 8 hour contract but was told I was hired on a full time basis. I was forced to work more than my contract, dont let the contract hours fool you, they make their own rules in ASDA. Management treat staff like dogs, I know colleagues in the warehouse who work 7 days in a row & have literally begged for days off, but to be turned down. Sick policy is awful, I had a broken ankle and forced to work due to fear of losing job. General managers parade around the shop like God’s gift to earth to nit pick at minor things, despite staff working their socks off due to ASDA being severely understaffed. You will be berated by certain managers for using the toilet. I can recall countless occasions of managers questioning why I was going toilet or why I spent 5 minutes in the toilet? A bit strange I thought. Rota is will usually be given on a Thursday or Friday. For ASDAs week which starts on a Saturday. ASDA expect you to have no life outside of work.
