Pros
- Excellent job for beginners, training provided and plenty to learn as an Associate Biologist and Biologist - SOP's and Quality Management System keep work consistent but easy to follow and troubleshoot in most cases - Workload often fluctuates, can be slow one day and busy the next so time management is important - Located off the main roads in Manassas, traffic is seldom an issue unless commuting from further away - Medical, Dental and Vision are inexpensive and offer good coverage
Cons
- Past the Biologist level, growth is very slow, not likely to get promoted unless someone leaves - Supervisors are generally open-minded and helpful but are often overridden by executives and viewed as useless at times when issues within a department or lab are brought up - Change within departments and the company are slow and often stalled by executive decisions, no incentive to share ideas or concerns when senior management seldom communicates with working staff - Salaries are low for anyone in Northern Virginia especially starting in entry-level positions
