Pros

-One of the top benefits of working at ATCC is meeting all the excellent individuals that work there. They are very nice and I enjoyed working with them for the 7.5 years that I was there. -If I asked to be trained or be involved with something, I was allowed because my supervisors were great about that. Not true for everyone. -Vacation time/sick time, and the freedom to use it. For the most part, everyone is allowed to work the hours that best suit them as long as you meet the allotted time requirements. -Good place to get your feet wet, and then move on.

Cons

-Communication does not exist in this place. So much misinformation (rumor mill) because upper management does not communicate with its employees. -Bad pay for the expense of the area. The company realized that having the company located in VA allows it to play the financial game. -The upper management of the company is excessively out of contact with the rest of company, and makes decisions without really consulting more in-touch individuals. -The way the company gets rid of their upper management individuals, especially the ones that do good. -An out of touch HR department; the HR department have really great people working for it but because they work for ATCC, they are not working to the greatest potential. -The Silo affect in the lab wing- most individuals have no idea what others do and doesn't understand the environment of ATCC. -No promotions most of the time, even for extremely capable people. -Confused message of what the company wants to be. -Lack of career development in the company

Pros

- Benefits are pretty good -People I directly work with in the labs are good at their jobs - Manassas Campus has a convenient grab and go food area which helps out when I forget to pack a lunch / don't have time to go out and grab something -Closed between Christmas and New Years

Cons

- Needs better coverage for mental health care - It seems like a lot of money goes towards administrative areas, while the lab wings are pretty cramped. It badly needs an extension with additional lab spaces. - Company recently changed from biweekly paychecks to weekly paychecks, which limits the ability to flex time, and being salaried, overtime is not compensated. -Can be very difficult to climb the ladder. Admin staff seem to be promoted more easily than lab staff. - Large reliance on paper records - Management tends to rush implementation of new systems before they're ready - Even with this being a non-profit, C-suite management makes multi-hundred-thousand-dollar salaries, and the old CEO was making over $2M in 2024 while not contributing much. It's hard to believe they're in touch with the common employee - Dragged their heels on implementing parental leave until forced to by law. HR loves to emphasize the small things they implement. -No leave sharing program
