Pros

Stable company with moderate growth. Little to no uncertainty as to whether or not ATCC will be there in 5/10/20 years. Promotion from within is a big part of their model.

Cons

-This is probably not global, but my experience with my immediate supervisor was very negative. They clearly wanted a mini-me rather than an independently working team member. - Some poorly-imagined positions have terrible turnover and the exiting employees are blamed. Red flag. -Company does not invest enough in quality - not enough staff to support operations. I found myself chasing quality folks a lot. -Re-design of MD facility was truly a joke and made getting work done incredibly hard on-site.

- Benefits are pretty good -People I directly work with in the labs are good at their jobs - Manassas Campus has a convenient grab and go food area which helps out when I forget to pack a lunch / don't have time to go out and grab something -Closed between Christmas and New Years

Cons

- Needs better coverage for mental health care - It seems like a lot of money goes towards administrative areas, while the lab wings are pretty cramped. It badly needs an extension with additional lab spaces. - Company recently changed from biweekly paychecks to weekly paychecks, which limits the ability to flex time, and being salaried, overtime is not compensated. -Can be very difficult to climb the ladder. Admin staff seem to be promoted more easily than lab staff. - Large reliance on paper records - Management tends to rush implementation of new systems before they're ready - Even with this being a non-profit, C-suite management makes multi-hundred-thousand-dollar salaries, and the old CEO was making over $2M in 2024 while not contributing much. It's hard to believe they're in touch with the common employee - Dragged their heels on implementing parental leave until forced to by law. HR loves to emphasize the small things they implement. -No leave sharing program
