Pros

they've never bounced a paycheck

Cons

Location: PINELLAS COUNTY, FLORIDA (Review originally posted under "Accentcare Hospice", formerly known as Seasons Hospice) Management is ignorant, unprofessional, and incompetent in their overall job capacities. As well as disrespectful & condescending to their staff. They won't hesitate to throw their nurses under the bus in front of their bosses to save face. Routinely plays favorites. Rewards some nurses with bonuses & incentives while denying the same bonuses & incentives to other nurses doing the exact same work. Gives unfair scheduling assignments to the outspoken nurses who stand up for themselves. Does nothing to protect its employees from a hostile workplace environment. Knowingly turns a blind eye to complaints of employee bullying & intimidation. Will even find a reason to unfairly write you up if you become a bit too vocal. Your verbalized concerns are ignored at every level of management, including the corporate executive levels. Your concerns are also ignored by HR, as HR is prejudiced and will always side with management. Has a high turnover of employees. Grossly underpays its staff. Doesnt provide even basic cost-of-living raises. Doesnt even attempt to stay salary-competitive with other local hospice agencies. The other local hospice agencies are paying their nurses $4-5/hr more. Provides its employees with zero loyalty and job security. Views its employees as nothing more than replaceable ID numbers on a payroll sheet. Does not value, appreciate, or respect its hard-working employees. Is well aware there is problematic understaffing issues... yet does nothing about it and still expects an unreasonable amount of work to get done. Is too cheap to put a paid on-call system in place to cover staff call-offs... which often contributes to the understaffing issues. Makes you clock out for lunch breaks that you arent even able to take because you're too busy & understaffed. Will do anything for patient numbers. Regularly accepts patients that might not even be hospice-appropriate in order to meet their number quotas... and then acts surprised with their high percentage of patient revocations once patients & families wise up. Expects staff to document patient eligibility criteria where patient eligibility criteria might not exist... teetering dangerously close to medical fraud. Hides behind this corrupt & immoral behavior with their sugar-coated rainbows & sunshine hospice philosophy. If you're looking for a decent Hospice agency to work for in SW Florida.... Accentcare Hospice is definitely NOT it. You deserve much better.

Pros

Could drive in my car by myself, no one bothered me I could start my day when I wanted to

Cons

Company is money focused 45 min to 1 hr between patients. Back office scheduling did not care about your car time between patients. Never had orders or discharge paperwork. Patients not even discharged from hospital yet but placed on schedule with no notes or welcome calls . And then it was left up to you to figure out where the patients were. No credit for all of the back work you needed to do. Managers constantly changing every 5 months all the nurses quit no one ever knew what to expect paper work depended on new managers PTO denied all the time . Onboarding is aweful. Must I go on stay away. Double dipping made to keep patients on the schedule for the nurse even tho all they needed was PTO no msw all quit no speech therapy but that was was ordered substituted ot for speech therapy no communication. Staff never researched patients before accepting for soc such as patient has mental psychotic unsafe behavior homes unsafe you would go out to do an admission, find this and then get no credit for it. If you decide it that the patient was a non-admit you could spend an hour and a half or an hour at a patient's house making sure that they were safe and things were being followed through on 911 would be called and you would get no credit for this. They would just want to add another patient onto your schedule even though you had all the charting to do and phone calls to make ridiculous
