Pros
The office is in a great location. Bagels and fruit on Fridays. The most good-looking group of people I've ever seen in real life.
Cons
Without exception, this is the most disorganized company I have ever experienced. No strategic planning; unclear long range vision. Reactive, power-drunk "leadership" team that is totally out of touch with their teams and have no capacity for empathy. An unsustainable work-life expectation where work wins, every time. Horrible open-concept workspaces designed on aesthetics alone, with no thought given to how employees in different roles/departments need to work and are most productive. A sub-par flagship product with a murky roadmap and a flawed foundation. Inexperienced human resources staff primarily populated with recent college graduates who have a lot to learn about life. Broken or non-existent processes and procedures that do nothing but hinder results, across the board. Absolutely zero empowerment to reach loosely-defined, poorly-communicated, and constantly-changing objectives. Total focus on shotgun sales with no consideration to overgrowth ramifications. Benefits and bonuses were reduced last year, and employees are forced to use accrued vacation time to get paid for mandatory closed-office days (which you will probably have to work anyway) around the holidays. General morale is subterranean, it's so low. And all evidence points to Vista shining up Active to make it appealing to a future potential purchaser, just like a super sleazy house flip. TL;DR: Don't accept an offer of employment here unless you have no other options, even if the position sounds promising. It won't last.
