Pros

Friendly guys to work with. The job offers a small amount of problem solving if your interested in cars and machines. The small size of the store allows for good relationship development with other team members. Many customers are repeats, giving you an intimate feeling of the community you live and work in.

Cons

A very hierarchical organization, making vertical movements difficult. The company is based almost entirely in Roanoke, making a transition to corporate quite difficult. After graduating college, I feel I am at a dead end with this company. Although I would like to stay with AAP, their corporate structure doesn't really allow that too easily.

Pros

A lot of schedule flexibility

Cons

There is a lot of favoritism/bad management, especially in the DC that I work in. (DC-41)

Pros

It’s a pretty easy job, very fun people to work with. Hours as a driver are pretty consistent.

Cons

The pay isn’t great. It would be nice if the drivers were making at least $17 or $18 an hour. Also benefits don’t extend to health insurance only dental and vision if you are only considered part-time. Anybody that isn’t the GM, CPP, and RPP are considered part-time, regardless of the hours you get.
