Pros

If you have a good team then the job is much less stressful. Having automotive knowledge prior to employment is preferred as people want you take your parts knowledge for granted and expect you to diagnose a problem just as a commercial mechanic shop. You get out what you put in as with anything you do in life. Yes, the general public can be stressful at times ,but remember they are there for your assistance. So place yourself in their situation. Meet your sales goals and maintain store standards. It's easy yet an immersive environment that takes a certain personality to endure.

Cons

The purchase of carquest has had its faults especially when customers purchase at (existing converted to advance auto) carquest stores. How Advance hasn't been able to merge Apex and Exploris into one system yet is aggravating at times. Carquest should have not been rebranded but left alone. Consumers stay with what they know regardless of the employees are still there or not. Seems money could've been spent elsewhere than a mass conversion when so many older Advance facilities need revisions and maintenance upgrades. Overtime isn't allowed in all stores. Bonus structure is sometimes tough to achieve.

A lot of schedule flexibility

Cons

There is a lot of favoritism/bad management, especially in the DC that I work in. (DC-41)

Pros

Some good employees at the Store lvl

Cons

Everything else. Corporate violates HR laws daily. HR sweeps all under rug. You will regret working for this company. Pay is terrible, McDonald's pays more..... Required 50 a week for GMs. More like 60. You have been warned
