Pros
People at the store are great, overall this is not a difficult job, just something to get me through college at the moment.
Cons
Customers can get better discounts than the employees can, company expects you to go the above and beyond for a customer and bend over backwards for barely any pay and is expects you to hit numbers while being way understaffed. Focus on items per transaction is completely backwards, everything is about selling quantity rather than quality and it shows in how many times we get defective batteries, alternators, starters etc.. No support for management, I cannot tell you how many times my GM has asked his district manager for help in hiring a couple more part timers and is stonewalled and tells him to "adapt and overcome." Overall lower management is hung out to dry constantly and chewed out because of lack of sales but again being criminally understaffed hurts sales. Somehow the company reports profits but every Sunday when price changes come in they are rarely ever decreasing and if it is the product is one that is never sold, but you can bet batteries prices will go up ever few months. When i started a Gold battery was $140, now its $160, utter disbelief that people shop at Advance.
