Pros

PTO is ample. Job security is better than average. Working remotely is possible for most.

Cons

Aetna is only a decent place to work if you're skilled at and more interested in organizational politics than you are in actually accomplishing productive work that makes a difference. Aetna is a large org with many, many people in all layers of management constantly jockeying for position and working against one another instead of encouraging all departments to pull in the same direction to collaboratively accomplish good things. If you are a software engineer worth your salt, do not work there. Intelligence, hard work, and actual leadership skills are not recognized or rewarded. People are only rewarded and advanced on the basis of how well they can navigate the internal politics. It's also a technological wasteland. You'll be siloed into a department with one, very narrow job function. You'll rely on other uncooperative departments for everything else. As a result, your skills will atrophy and you'll get restless. The only hope you will have of avoiding this fate is to find a position within one of the company's few, more progressive divisions, but even then the problems of poor leadership and politics still apply.
