Pros

The one notable advantage of working at this company is the remote factor of this job. They also offer a good benefits package.

Cons

Working at Affirm was an absolute nightmare! The never-ending training sessions were a total waste of time because they just kept piling on more without giving us a chance to absorb anything. And as if that wasn't enough, the management had the audacity to gaslight us by slashing our wages and laying off a bunch of people, leaving the remaining employees to pick up the slack without any compensation. They expect us to do the most work for the cheapest rate, like we're some kind of cheap labor force. But it doesn't stop there. Affirm has no qualms about breaking rules and crossing country boundaries, pushing their American regulations and laws onto other countries. Talk about unethical practices! The only redeeming quality is that the job is remote, but trust me, no amount of money is worth putting up with this silly mess.

Pros

Affirm has a lot of talented engineers and high impact, interesting products to work on. The company is remote first and I traveled abroad for a few weeks a year while working.

Cons

Most of the projects were under tight deadlines which put a lot of stress on the engineers. Management didn't really understand what was required of engineers for many of the projects which made it difficult for them to communicate the team's needs upward. My team was short staffed for senior and staff engineers so techincal leadership was also lacking.
