Pros
I have absolutely nothing positive to say
Cons
I genuinely cannot fathom how Affirm continues to operate given the catastrophic descent it has taken post-layoffs. If you have a penchant for endless stress, overwhelming workloads designed for at least quadruple the manpower, and a corporate environment reminiscent of the darkest political intrigues, then by all means, welcome to Affirm! Senior Leadership Team's (SLT) ineptitude has reduced what might once have been a thriving culture to an echoing chamber of backstabbing and vile toxicity. "Reorganization" seems to be the company's favorite word, with talent making a run for it, and those left behind forced to adapt to a new role every six months. It's a never-ending, chaotic cycle of leadership churn, each bringing their "revolutionary vision" only to flip the company upside-down and toss all prior efforts into the trash. Hoping for career growth? Let me offer a spoiler: Affirm is where ambitions come to wither and die. There is no upward mobility. They'll trap you in a siloed role and choke your paycheck to the point where your starting salary becomes a life sentence. Promotions? Ha! Unless you’re adept at playing Machiavellian games or you're part of the favored clique, forget about it. Merit means nothing here; it's all about who you cozy up to. Attempting cross-functional work is like navigating a minefield blindfolded. Every department operates like a fortress, zealously guarding information as if it's the crown jewels. And accountability? A foreign concept for some teams, who seem to excel only in offloading their responsibilities onto others. The atmosphere is stifling, oppressive, and rife with fear. Voicing concerns is like signing your own termination letter. Employees tread on eggshells, perpetually wary of attracting unwanted attention and ending up in the crosshairs of SLT's whims. In short, if you value your sanity, peace of mind, and career prospects, steer clear of the sinking ship that is Affirm. It's not a workplace; it's a cold, Kafkaesque hellscape where hope and morale go to die a slow, agonizing death.
