Pros

Working at the Denver division of Albireo Energy feels like working for a small company where you get to know and work with everyone, regardless of position or title. The people here are mostly veterans in the industry and include people of all ages and walks of life. The workload and pace are dynamic which keeps it interesting, and there's always something new from which to learn and grow. Each person has their own background and experiences, and the company encourages us to use those to make creative/innovative decisions instead of just doing things the same way all the time which I appreciate after working for companies that don't trust that you may know better ways of doing things coming into the job. Management is also very understanding of people having lives outside of work. If you have an emergency and need to leave, or have an appointment you need to make, no one is going to give you any grief about it. No job or company is a perfect fit for everyone, but I do feel that this is the first company I have worked for where each person is more than their title, and I am treated like more than just my own. Many of my co-workers have worked here for 10+ years, which I was surprised by when I first start here just a few years ago. Now that I have been here for a bit it makes sense. You always hear that you should change jobs every couple years and that no one values loyalty anymore, but the Denver division of Albireo still operates like a small business. They value good people, and so those people stick around.

Cons

You'll see other people review and say that there is no or very little training/onboarding. This is partially true. Due to the type of work we do at the Denver division (HVAC and Security Building Automation Controls) much of the learning more or less has to be done on the job. Each job may use slightly different equipment depending on how it was engineered and each client is unique with their own individual requirements. While there could be some more structured training for the basics, by and large my co-workers were always available to help answer questions or assist if I didn't know something. If you are someone who enjoys active learning, then it wouldn't be a problem for you, but for someone who needs a more structured onboarding process, it could be a challenge.

Very positive experience working at Albireo Energy. The company has a collaborative culture where people genuinely want to help each other succeed. Leadership is approachable, and there is a strong focus on building a high-performance organization while still valuing employees and treating them with respect. One of the things I appreciate most is the opportunity for growth. Employees who demonstrate initiative and deliver results are given opportunities to take on new challenges and advance their careers. The work is fast-paced, especially as the company continues to grow, which creates opportunities to learn new skills and make a meaningful impact. The company invests in its people through leadership development, training, competitive benefits, and a strong commitment to employee engagement. It's clear that management wants to continue improving the employee experience and is open to feedback.

Cons

Like any growing company, change happens quickly, so employees need to be adaptable. Growth also brings new processes and evolving priorities, but leadership is focused on continuous improvement and communication.

This is a company that has managed to maintain a strong, close-knit culture while continuing to grow. At the division level, people genuinely care about one another, work hard for the team, and take pride in what they build together. One of the things I value most is the autonomy given to local divisions. The people closest to the customers, employees, and market are trusted to make decisions that fit their business. That creates ownership, accountability, and a stronger connection to results. The culture is very much work hard, play hard. Expectations are high, and the work can be demanding, but success is celebrated, relationships matter, and there is a real sense that everyone is contributing to something meaningful.

Cons

Growth naturally creates challenges, and it is important that the company continues to protect the local culture and division-level autonomy that make it successful. The pace can also be intense at times, which may not be the right fit for everyone.
