Pros
Alliance pays well to get talented team members in the door. There are plentiful career opportunities. This is likely due to the difficulty they have in retaining that talent.
Cons
This company needs to become more proactive and move away from the reactive management it has become accustom to. For starters, a five-year business plan shared throughout the company. Improvements are needed on our flagrant over-allocation of resources across the company. A good place to start is tracking the time spent on all aspects of the business for accurate baselines. We require more emphasis on the accurate financial analysis before we spend capital/expense monies. Too often have we started down a path only to change direction or missed our mark by a large margin. Our ability to accurately forecast existing product needs significant improvement. This is only exaggerated when we try to forecast volume for new product. Hiding behind the guise of custom manufacturing variability is no excuse. Suggest a data analytic group embedded within Sales or Product Management. Remove bureaucracy from our dialogue from the top down. It hurts the company to think that we can run and gun, just like we did when we were half the size. Good processes are not time wasters. In fact, they boost efficiency through repetition of good practices. I strongly believe the “team will get it done” mentality is a large contributor to the low moral I encounter across the company weekly. I feel this must be evident in our ability to retain high value talent. Less they are tied to our company via time dependent financial incentives. This allows the complacent to stay while the ambitious move on. I wish nothing but the best for this company and its employees, but with so much opportunity for improvement and so little correction I worry about the future.
