Pros

- very smart and driven group of top-notch engineers and managers - silicon photonics and LiDAR technology is leading edge, a cool semiconductor tech company many have not heard of - office is high end with an advanced lab in the Boston seaport area - compensation is in line with the industry, hard work and achievement is rewarded with out of cycle promotions and increased comp - a growing and profitable business, which is unique for a small tech company

Cons

- on-site work is expected (some employees like that, some don't) - the engineering team is lean but growing, so the work can be demanding due to contract milestones so you need to be ready to step up and perform - a small company and you may need to wear many hats to get the job done, may not be a good fit for some

Pros

The company offers exceptional opportunities to take on new challenges and expand your skill set, with exposure to the full spectrum of LiDAR development from concept to deployment. Leadership is encouraging and supportive of professional development, welcoming new ideas and fostering an environment where employees can take ownership of projects early in their careers. The workplace is highly collaborative, with knowledgeable colleagues who are always willing to share their expertise.

Cons

The fast-paced nature of projects can be challenging at times and requires adaptability to shifting priorities. Being self-motivated and proactive is important to make the most of the opportunities available.

Pros

Some of the nicest and smartest people to work with if you’re a young engineer at the beginning of your career. People are always willing to share knowledge and help explain things.

Cons

Unrealistic deadlines and lack of care for employees drains the life from some of the brightest engineers I’ve worked with.
