EVERYTHING. If I could give Ankura 0 stars, I would. 1. Career Opportunities: There are none. Management tries to keep you in the same department. They stack you with their own projects and run off on vacations. After a year there, they might change your title if you happen to be a white male. But if you happen to be a woman or minority, you are treated as a second-class citizen. You will need all the luck in the world if you express dissatisfaction--management and Human Resources will target and retaliate against you. I've seen this happen much too often. 2. Compensation and Benefits: You are lowballed, overworked, and underpaid. Ankura, on purpose, has not released any document with their pay scales. All employees constantly ask when it will be released and Ankura just ignores it. Benefits, the only good benefit is my health insurance. It beats paying $10 more through Marketplace Healthcare. Other than that, they have tried to throw in tuition assistance- a great $500. Oh, and gym inside the building across the street--until three months ago, it was only a benefit Senior Associates and higher received. 3. Work/Life Balance: You do the work for the life balance of the Directors and Senior Managing Directors. Managers will do anything to keep you from growing. Ankura does not have any established initiatives to help the growth of their employees. When it comes to community outreach, Ankura is too cheap to donate to. In fact, Ankura desperately asks their employees each week for pictures of their community engagements--community engagements Ankura absolutely did not help with or support. 4. Senior Management: Ankura's management team needs to be transparent. The transparency in this place is nonexistent. You have a majority of employees freaking out because of this but most are scared to say anything because of the retaliation tactics. If you are a Director of higher the pay is great, but this money comes from the backs of the little people. 5. Culture and Value: The culture at Ankura is one that sucks your soul empty. The environment is harmful to the mental and physical well-being of its employees. The value is absolutely awful, you are rented per hour and paid less than 25% of what they are selling you for. Try and ask for your rental price and see how willing they are to provide you with that information. Ankura values its employees so much the turnover rate is over the roof--the only thing breaking the glass ceiling.
