Pros

No-deductible medical insurance is expensive but has the most best coverage I've seen. Gym benefits. Employee reimbursements are solid. Potential to go thrive fully remotely. A sprinkle of competent and great people.

Cons

SMDs who don't sell enough work to go around, no meaningful training for staff, petty staff management, low pay compared to competitors (Alix, A&M, FTI), lack of diversity (seen women/PoC get bullied implicitly), staff turnover makes it difficult to grow together esp. as best talent usually runs away after seeing the true workplace or burns out, toxic culture, no true HR/performance review process with no clear promotion trajectory, no concern for personal life/hours (have worked till 4am in the office and come in for a 7am meeting for weeks), weird resentment related to Navigant acquisition, poor IT infrastructure/security (no VPN for most my projects, scam calls on Ankura landlines constantly, multiple login prompts when out of office to use Office365, phishing emails occasionally).

Pros

The people here and those that choose to come, or friendly, collegial, and fun to work with. This is truly a learning environment. My colleagues have deep expertise and I learned every day. Oxygen to my brain.

Cons

The work and timelines can be intense - but sometimes that's the nature of client service and the business we are in.

Pros

I happened to be on a good team with good managers who hire well. The whole team works well together, expectations are generally set to fit everyone well, and tasks are assigned as such. The work is also quite interesting most of the time and we get opportunities to explore new work streams.

Cons

Low visibility between stakeholders and normal employees, specifically the private equity that owns the firm. This makes it difficult to understand many of the top-down decisions made and makes the whole review/raise cycle extremely weird. Every year someone asks management why there is such a long delay between reviews and promotions/raises along with no transparency surrounding raise decisions.
