Pros

I've worked in both large and small companies, and Asana is at just the right size where you can find a lot of support while still having potential to make a huge impact. The company is in a fast-growing space, has a strong product-market fit, and is already one of the top recognized names in the industry. And there is still a ton of potential for Asana to grow and achieve larger successes. The company cares a ton about its employees and is very thoughtful about helping everyone grow to their full potential. There are tons of resources for personal and career growth, and managers are extremely well supported to help their teams grow and thrive. Even though we are still remote, I found the onboarding experience to be excellent, and in-fact, better developed than some much larger companies that I worked at in the past. Teams are able to move quickly and get things done, while still maintaining one of the best work-life balances I've seen in the industry. The people and the leadership are also fantastic. There is very high collaboration on individual teams, and most teams are well supported by product, design, data science, and user experience research partners. All the people I've worked with so far has been very strong in their specific role/skillset and everyone works well together and supports each other. Leadership has a clear vision of where the company needs to go, is transparent, and communicates well, while still being humble and receptive to feedback. All in all, it's been a fantastic experience, and it truly feels like a unique and special place. I feel so grateful for the opportunity to work here and the support I've had since I've joined.

Cons

Not much that I can think of, but there have been some typical growing pains as the organization has scaled. Asana still feels like a small company in many ways, but we'll need to adapt as we continue to grow into a larger organization.

Pros

There's real enduring culture where people care about doing really good work. The culture is friendly with strong camaraderie amongst the individual employees, and managers try to do right by their reports.

Cons

Quarterly reorgs, quiet role reductions, and slowly stripping away benefits has made morale worse than ever. It may have been worthwhile if the business was getting better, but it's pretty flat and attrition is very high. With the introduction of the new CEO, Dan Rogers, there's been a clear shift to hard capitalism and people as numbers. Problems have been solved in short-sighted ways, causing discontent even within the leadership ranks. The company was losing some steam beforehand, but now it's "a ship trying to make a sharp turn and keeling over, just barely not capsizing".
