      Pros

      Ascend Learning is a combination of industry leading businesses, which allows you the ability to work with a smaller company with the greater individual impact on the bottom line, with the benefits of working for a larger company. With that being said you are also able to make an impact locally with volunteering and community organizations as well. Their work life balance is absolutely the best, with opportunities for growth in my current business unit (just got a promotion in fact!), and other business units if I decide to make my move. You also have unlimited time off, which is very valuable to me when you have both parents working and ever changing schedules of children and life in general.

      Decent benefits Hybrid WFH schedule Some really great direct managers

      Cons

      Chaotic and disorganized, with old outdated backend systems. Work performance and output not generally recognized: people who do very little work are often paid the same, or more than people who do double or triple the workload, and are allowed to continue with the company while other shoulder the load. Once you are on a team or part of a BU - good luck making a move to another team or BU. The place is a revolving door for a lot of positions, but once you learn a skillset they are unlikely to allow a move. The sales team runs this place, so be prepared to be bullied constantly by them, even when you are told to gatekeep.
