- No trust and respect from the high-level management. The management team has a problem of trusting its own employees as they would like to monitor employees' daily activities every minute if they can. They used to relocate the whole technical team to a room and rearrange all working desks in order for them probably to easily see what's on computer screens. The leader of the technical team seemed okay with it but the whole team was against it as this arrangement limits everybody's moving space. In the end, the CEO refused to listen to staff and insisted on his original plan. Plus, work-from-home is not allowed. - Unusual long working hours but with low pay. The basic working hour is 45 hours per week (9am-7pm each working day), not to mention that it's very normal you get to work more than 9 hours a day and even on weekends. They even ask you to sign an extra document to work 3 hours more (total 48 hours per week) to make sure you can work long hours when there is heavy load of work with limited resources. However, with such long working hour, the salary is still lower compared to market average. - Bad communicating environment with the management team. The CEO may turn out to be aggressive when he doesn't fully understand your work or presentation, which really frustrates employees. - Long notice period. The notice period is 3 months, which is much longer than industry standard. This long notice period makes inflexible for you to transition to your next position. - Low credible information from interviews. The information you get from interviews may be different from what you actually see or know about the company once you join in terms of career development, salary trajectory, and working environment, etc. - Unfair treatment. The technical teams feel unappreciated for their hard work. Most of the products in the company are based on modelling work conducted by the technical teams. However, when it comes to career promotion and wage reward, they get least opportunities and lowest bonus on average within the company.
