Pros

Company benefits More "corporate" environment than independent dealerships AutoNation is always hiring, plenty of jobs available, from sales consultants to accounting personnel

Cons

Regardless of what anyone in H.R. or Mgmt tells you on an interview, your income is capped. Regardless of whether you're straight commission. If you happen to exceed all quotes and objectives and reach a high income one month, your payplan with be changed the following month. Having been a sales manager and F&I Mgr, I know from experience. If you happen to earn $14,000 in one month, you'll go thru a payplan change, not to exceed $12,000 any month afterwards. They're a public company and they only income that matters is their own.

Pros

The department is work from home.

Cons

They do not provide any equipment/laptops and make you pay for your own virus protection. Extreme micromanagement leaves employees with little autonomy and creates unnecessary stress. Frequent layoffs and high turnover. Inconsistent scheduling and long hours, including recurring 10-14 hour days yet ending the week with no overtime. Employees are blamed for slow business conditions they cannot control. Unpaid on-call expectations when the work load is low. Low compensation relative to workload. Management often complains about having to answer employee questions, creating an environment where people feel discouraged from seeking guidance or clarification. Employees are treated as replaceable rather than valued contributors.
