Pros

The process is good. If you use the greet script, phone script and menu script verbatim you will sell cars. Their training staff for Sales Ignition in Clearwater is second to none. Lead by Eric Szemple this 2 WEEK training class was far from boring and provided a strong foundation for both the green and the rusty car salesperson.

Cons

Switching from pay plan to pay plan EVERY month gets old. Especially when you are handed a pay plan, you sign it and use it create you monthly goals only to find out it not the right pay plan. And then it's impossible to get a copy of the correct pay plan, but when you do get a copy you've already switched (forcedly) to another pay plan. My biggest complaint and I've taken this issue to the highest levels of HR and the benefits depts is a monthly deduction from my bi-monthly check called "other". It was a deduction in the amount of $26.07 and commenced on the first week I had insurance deducted from my check. I was told that it has something to do with my insurance premiums, but I was still charged it on my last check even though my benefits had been cancelled for almost two weeks. I 100% authorized AutoNation to deduct my monthly health and dental premiums from my paycheck, but I never authorized the to deduct "other" from my check pay period after pay period. My local HR Dept referred me to the AN Benefits 800# who referred me back to my local HR Dept who referred me back to...well you get it. They keep blaming each other and I'm just out $26.07 multiplied by however many paychecks there were. I think I need to take this issue up with the Federal Labor Board to get a resolution. I even told my local HR my intention and NO mediation was attempted by anyone at AutoNation after I mentioned my intention.

Pros

Introduction / pathway into higher ticket sales, negotiation experience and networking with clientele. Some of the best benefits compared to other Automotive companies.

Cons

Unfortunately I’ve dealt with harassment, religious discrimination, and just blatant disrespect on a daily basis. I look forward to leaving.
