Pros

Remote Work Some smart developers

Cons

Management lacks the requisite training to effectively manage teams. I had a first-time manager who exhibited a significant lack of emotional intelligence. He was unfamiliar with software processes and methodologies, resulting in excessive micromanagement. He encroached upon employees’ responsibilities and altered their work products to suit his preferences. There was widespread blame and secrecy within the organization. Decision-making processes and the product roadmap were not communicated to the team. Approval for new work was extremely slow, leading to substantial wasted time. Engineering employees are not treated fairly in terms of benefits, which is unacceptable. I was abruptly informed that graveyard shifts were necessary to push code beyond regular working hours, and that this was a standard procedure. Furthermore, these shifts would be required whenever the team decided to deploy, without any scheduled breaks the following day for recovery or balance.

Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

A lot of politics in day to day. People working to look busy instead of improving the business.
