Pros

Flex attendance policy, generous time off for even entry-level employees. Insane benefits, generous starting wage, and lots of room for growth. Management is generally enthusiastic and helpful, and if you show initiative there are many opportunities to expand your skillset even at entry level.

Cons

Their entry-level call center position is swiftly imploding. The company is growing exponentially every year, and they cannot keep up with staffing need, especially as more tenured call center employees consistently promote out as soon as possible due to burn-out. They will not fire consistently terrible performers, but their best workers keep going on to more challenging positions within the company. They need to overhaul or they're going to lose a lot of labor.

Thank you for your review. Respectfully, we must disagree with you about being in a downturn. Over the past two years, Availity has experienced tremendous growth. Fueled by the pandemic, and the mounting challenges with staffing and legacy system maintenance, more health plans and providers are looking to Availity to help sustain and grow their healthcare businesses. There has never been a better time to be at Availity. Thank you for mentioning our substantial compensation package, which is rare in most companies. We also invest in our associates by providing resources to expand their knowledge and skillsets—opening doors for career growth opportunities. There is no limit to what you can accomplish at Availity. Our associates have acknowledged these advantages, consistently ranking Availity as a Great Place to Work™-certified company in technology, for women, and Millennials. Availity Client Services, or the call center, is the heartbeat of Availity. These associates work with our customers every day to drive efficiencies in healthcare. Being on the front lines is challenging, and we routinely reward their efforts through our recognition programs and activities. While it may not always feel like it, each associate is making a positive difference in the lives of our customers and their patients. Senior management closely monitors staffing levels to ensure we appropriately meet our service requirements and client demands. Because volume in this area fluctuates throughout the year, we are cautious about staffing up too quickly. However, burnout is real. And if you are feeling overwhelmed in your role, please talk with your manager. Our generous PTO benefit is in place to help associates find that healthy work-life balance they need. Everyone here works hard, and each of our jobs includes some stress, which is why it is essential to be able to step away when needed. The work/life balance only happens when we put forth the effort to make it work for us. We hope you stick with us to see all the opportunities at Availity.
