      Tough work/life balance - Senior Engagement Strategist Avalere Health Employee Review

      Pros

      A wide variety of good benefits, incentives, and yearly bonuses. Remote work. Good PTO. Try hard at diversity and inclusion. Book club, diversity meetings, celebrations - but often you cannot attend because you are so swamped with work

      Cons

      Managers are often under so much pressure that they have no time to dedicate to guide and teach their younger team members. Communication on accounts is terrible even with sometimes 4 project managers and 3+ account managers. Deadlines are almost always extremely tight so expect to work 13-hour days more often than not. Understaffing is a continuous issue. Seem to care more about profit than employees' well-being even though they "encourage" us to take time off to avoid burnout...but only if you can find coverage (which hardly exists). Leaders in HR are generally great, but the younger employees are often clueless.

      - Good PTO with paid closure from Christmas to New Years - The people that actually do the work are wonderful to work with, incredibly talented and intelligent, and truly care about the work they are doing

      Cons

      This is one of the most toxic places I’ve ever worked. Burnout is extremely high. Everything is being done to prop the company up to make it look attractive to investors, but it is creating extremely dissatisfied employees and clients at the expense of this. Don’t believe anything they say about the company values. Your job is to produce and don’t ask questions. Layoffs are frequent and done without thought or understanding of how the work gets done. Remaining team members are left to pick up the slack and try to explain to clients why deadlines are missed and quality is declining. If you value your physical and mental health, do whatever you can to avoid working at this place. The ship is sinking…don’t get on.
