Pros

Aveda focuses not only on virtual total wellness of it's clientele with forward-thinking naturally-derived treatments, beauty products and philosophies, but also for it's employees. Aveda sets the standard for encouraging it's employees to strive to be the best at what they do- to serve and pamper it's clients with world-class pampering while doing it responsibly and with integrity for the earth. Aveda is not preachy, it merely suggests a better lifestyle of self-care with amazing naturally derived aromas. I've worked off and on for Aveda as a makeup artist, and am looking into returning permanently after relocating back home and working for a few other beauty companies whose philosophies I didn't mesh as well with as I did Aveda. I hope to go into management.

Cons

The main downside at working for Aveda is pretty much that I have spent a lot of my paycheck on the products! The upside to that is that employees are offered a discount. The only downside I truly see is that newcomers to Aveda, in my eyes, have not seen the company before Estee Lauder took over and might not appreciate the company in it's "previous life", but on the upside, newcomers to Aveda can bring a fresh perspective, since good business is all about change and bringing in a new generation. I'm still hoping Aveda will continue with adding ingredients that are not toxic, that they keep the integrity of quality Aveda is famous for.
